Why Volunteer

Most mental health agencies are funded by tax dollars or entirely through private donations.  The Mental Health Resource League strives to help the agencies give the extra services they might not otherwise be able to give.

Our financial support has funded projects such as these:

  • Implementation of Teenage Mothers Initiative (TAMI) program for McHenry County Youth Service Bureau
  • Physical therapy and occupational therapy equipment for Adult and Child Rehab Center
  • Grief booklets for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois
  • Counseling scholarships for Family Alliance
  • Emergency medicines and transportation to McHenry County PADS
  • Summer day camp scholarships to NISRA

Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.  You don't have to have a college degree to serve.  You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.  You only need a heart full of great, a soul generated by love.
        ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
